Newforma acquires Lumi AI, will incorporate into its tech
What happened
- Newforma acquired Toronto-based Lumi AI, whose analytics engine turns plain-language questions into explainable, verifiable answers from project data.
- Lumi’s technology will initially be integrated into Newforma platforms, including Newforma Konekt, and will extend the Vojo AI assistant.
- Lumi co-founder and CTO Tudor Boiangiu will join Newforma as VP of AI Engineering; the Lumi engineering team will continue working from Toronto.
Why it matters
The acquisition strengthens Newforma’s AI offering for architecture, engineering, construction and owner firms by combining Lumi’s analytics layer with Newforma’s project-data structure. It may increase the value of existing project-information systems without requiring firms to consolidate all data into one source.
What to watch. Newforma said rollout details will follow as Lumi’s technology is integrated into its platforms.
